History of Insight
Since its founding in 1978, Insight Vacations has developed impeccable service standards for unique itineraries to an expanding list of destinations. Insight was the first tour company to win the Queen's Award for Export Achievement from Queen Elizabeth II in 1983. Today, the company has teams of professionals in offices worldwide that showcase “The Art of Touring in Style.”
Escorted Tours
Insight offers deluxe escorted tours in Europe, the Eastern Mediterranean and North America. Each expertly crafted itinerary takes you to intriguing, lesser-known sites beyond the typical tourist stops.
You’ll often spend two or three nights in each major city, giving you plenty of time to explore on your own, too. Group sizes average close to 30 guests (and never climb above 40).
While all of Insight’s tours are highly inclusive, the company’s Luxury Gold brand features even more inclusions, smaller groups and top-notch hotels, restaurants and activities.
Here are a few of the vacation-enhancing features that are included in the price of your Insight tour.
Tour Director
A highly skilled tour director manages the details of your trip. He or she will share knowledge of each destination on your tour, offer suggestions on how to spend your free time and oversee baggage handling, hotel check-ins and transportation schedules. And, if any travel issue should arise, your tour director will a find practical solution so you can relax and enjoy your vacation.
Signature Experiences
Signature Experiences are unique, immersive activities that would be difficult or impossible to arrange on your own. Historians, artisans and other local experts will share their stories and traditions so you gain a meaningful understanding of each region visited. Enjoy a tasting of superb wines with an expert vintner or explore a national park’s wildlife and ecosystem with a local climber, for example.
Signature & First-Class Hotels
Staying in distinctive, centrally located hotels can be the difference between a good vacation and an unforgettable one. Whether you’re in a vibrant city or amid idyllic countryside, your hotel will be among the best available options in the area. The company’s “signature” hotels are extraordinary properties, such as a 15th-century Roman convent converted into a luxury hotel or the restored Ashford Castle in Ireland, while first-class hotels are comfortable, upscale properties handpicked for superior service and proximity to famous sites and landmarks.
Authentic Dining
Insight’s meals always include wine and highlight each destination’s local, authentic cuisine. For the first evening meal on each vacation, you’ll enjoy a Welcome Dinner where you can meet your fellow travel companions. Signature Evenings, where sensational regional dishes are paired with local wines and specially arranged entertainment, are included in many locations and bring you closer to the culture. Finally, round off your journey with a celebration dinner, sharing a toast while savoring a final farewell meal.
Motorcoach
Insight’s luxury touring coaches feature panoramic windows, air-conditioning, quality sound systems, video and power outlets and Wi-Fi. Plus, with an average of roughly 30 guests per tour, you’ll enjoy easier boarding of the coach and extra legroom -- all motorcoaches are uniquely customized, with several rows of seats removed to allow for up to twice as much legroom as what you’d find on standard coaches.
